    Sync Question

I have Reunion on my iMac and iPad. I also have a Macbook and I was wondering if this would work?

Sync iMac to iPad, then Sync iPad to Macbook.

And of course, when changes are made on Macbook:

Sync Macbook to iPad, then sync iPad to iMac.

    Thanks.

    Re: Sync Question

    Hi,

No, this will not work. The iPad app is not intended as a way to transfer data between two Macs. Instead, you would need to copy your Family File back and forth between your Macs.

      Re: Sync Question

I put my family file and it's associated media folder in a Reunion data folder on Dropbox. Voila! It's now available from both my laptop and desktop. After sharing the folder with my daughter and wife, we all access to the most up to date version of our family file.

My only word of caution would be to avoid having two computers trying to access the file at the same time. I don't know if it would create a conflict or not, but am not willing to experiment to find out.

That's what I do to. Also, I pause syncing on Dropbox when using Reunion.

Thanks for the replies. I'm not to keen on trusting my data to the cloud. Now if there was a way to auto backup to the desktop, I might give it a go. I think I'll go the "sneaker net" route for now.

Hadn't thought of pausing Dropbox syncing when using Reunion. I'll be doing that from now on.

Now we just need an iPhone/iPad version of Reunion that can access those Dropbox files so we no longer have to sync to keep them current every time a change is made.
