Somehow one of my entries shows up as a brother and son of an ancestor. How do I unlink him as the brother and relink him to the correct parents.

Re: Removing parent link
Drag him to the clipboard to unlink, switch to the correct family card then drag him out of the clipboard to that card. You should get a dialog asking you to verify that is what you want.Bob White, Mac Nut Since 1985, Reunion Nut Since 1991

Re: Removing parent link
I have a similar dilemma . . . how can I unlink a very large family from incorrect ancestors? This goes back over 100 years. My grandfather is linked to incorrect parents; actually, we don't know who his parents are. I would like to unlink the incorrect parents AND their real family without losing my grandfather's family. I also want to keep the "incorrect" family because they are acquaintances!
Sorry if this is confusing!

Could I enter "unknown" parents for my grandfather, then link him to those instead of the incorrect parents?
Thank you . . . Angela
Click on the marriage button above them.
Now click on the 'Children' button.
Find and highlight your grandfather in the list of children.
Click on "Remove child..." button at bottom (second from left)
The second line of the resulting message box will read ...
"His record will remain in the family file".
Click on "Remove" - job done.Peter Cook
