I have 27 missing photos in my transfer to 12. They are in Pictures or Desktop. How are they brought into 12?

Click a ? button anywhere in Reunion 12, and then in the "search the manual" box, type: missing multimedia.

The manual explains exactly how to handle situations where multimedia files can't be found.
