birth dates in descendant charts

The birth dates sometimes display as death dates on the descendant charts. For example, my birth date come sout as -1948 (instead of 1948-). how do I fix this?

Apologies for the stupid question, but is your birthdate actually entered into the Birth field? I have seen on occasion where folks have accidentally entered the right data into the wrong field.
