I have 50K+ persons in my database. Occasionally, I would like to see the line from a distant cousin or great-grandparent to myself.

Is there a way to get that?

You can use the "Find relationship between two people" feature to do this.

Click on Find in the Navbar at left, then drag one person (from the People sidebar) to the "Person 1" box, and the other to the "Person 2" box. Click the "Find Relationship" button and, once the relationship has been found, click the "Create Chart" button to create a chart showing the relationship.

Note that there are instances where the option to create a chart won't be available -- for example, if Person 1 is the spouse of Person 2.

No. If the two spouses are related, a chart "can" be created.
