Misc Notes appearing with wrong people.

When doing a search for a particular note, I found it attached to the wrong person, then found that it was also attached to the correct person. These people are not related in any way.

When I erased the notes from the wrong person, they also disappeared from the correct person. When I replaced all the notes for correct person, they appeared again on the wrong person.

I then put the incorrect person in the clipboard and then deleted. The notes had again disappeared from the correct person. I replaced the notes, then added a new person to replaced the one erased. Everything now seems correct.

I found a second similar occurrence and corrected it the same way. I am hoping this problem isn't too prevalent as I have over 20,000 people in my file most with copious notes.

Hi Don,

It sounds like you're running into an issue we refer to as "linked notes". Basically, two entries in your family file are linked to the same note record in the database.

If you send your family file to us we can "unlink" the notes so that changing one does not change the other. For details on how to send your family file to us, please see this FAQ.
