Will changing filepath FOLDER names result in broken Reunion links?

My genealogy record files for Reunion (organized under four grandparent-line folders) are in a filepath that presently looks like this:

Dropbox/Misc Genealogy Dropbox Files/aarchives Gen DROPBOX COPY/[insert grandparent line folder name here]

I am transferring everything to a new desktop iMac, and am using this as an opportunity to clean up files, folders, etc. I dislike the current filepath named above. My genealogy files are NOT "Misc Genealogy Dropbox Files" (i.e., not miscellaneous!!) and I just want to change folder names to something more intuitive.

Will I break any links to any parts of Reunion if I change the folder names? I know that changing FILE names will break links (which I guess is a "duh" because files are files, I suppose) but don't know about changing folder names in any part of the filepath that points to a specific file.

Prefer not to experiment, and did not find any previous conversation in this forum.

    Thanks,
    Susan Rogers

Reunion should be able to find the files afterwards - either on its own, or by you going to th eReunion Preferences ------> Multimedia and telling Reunion where to look to find the files (Multimedia Search Folders setting), and then clicking "Repair Multimedia Links…" if need be.
