    Batch-change death date?

Is it possible to batch-change the death date for marked individuals?

The reason I want to do this is that in my tree, many individuals in older generations have no birth or death date, so when I upload the file to Ancestry, etc., those individuals are marked Living, with no other information displayed.

If they have a question mark for a death date, their information will be displayed properly, but going back and changing so many of them one by one will be extremely tedious.

    Thank you,

    David

    No.

However, after marking the appropriate people in your family file, one possible way to make the process of changing each Death Date field easier would be to open the Results list window showing Marked people (by choosing Lists > Results > Marked people). Next, add a column (or change a column) to display the Death Date field in the listing. Finally, use the tab key on your keyboard to tab through the fields and enter a ? in the Death Date field for all people.

Information about how to add and change fields displayed in lists can be found in your manual by searching for "edit list." To access the manual, click on the ? in the lower left corner of the Reunion window or choose Help -> Contents.

I understand this was probably not what you were hoping to hear. However, I do hope you find this information helpful

This is the method I used quite a few years ago to do this to thousands of entries in a file I had been given.
