I am unable to create "family history, register, ancestor, descendant, family group sheet and person sheet reports. When I click on "open with textedit" nothing happens? Charts on the other hand work fine.

Please open your family file and go to:
Reunion -> Preferences... , Reports, Word Processor
And select Other... from the menu found there. Then, select TextEdit (or another word processor, if you'd prefer) in the window that opens, then click Choose.
Most likely what's happening is Reunion is pointing to an older version of TextEdit that's no longer present. The above steps should correct that.
