    'Sort Events' for full database

Some of my people have an out of order Event list. I can 'Sort Events' for that person with the button between the Event list and Source Citations but understood if I clicked on Change (on the left side) > Sort Events > All People > Use Event Template that every person would be sorted according to the template format. When I hit Sort however it says 'Events for 1 out of 7000 people sorted' and only one does get sorted. How can I get the full database sorted please?

    Hi,

What options have you selected under Sort Events? Specifically, what have you selected for If an event has no date... and what's the setup for Event Template?

    Thanks,

      Thanks Mark
Sort events for - All people
If an event has no date - Use event template.
Event Template - Birth, *Other Events*, Death, Burial.
I tried the bottom box checked and unchecked.

Hm, that should work. Would you be willing to send us your family file, along with examples of entries that you believe should be getting sorted, but aren't?

If I can take a look at the file I should be able to determine what's occurring. Details on how to send the family file can be found in this FAQ

        Thanks,

Thanks heaps Mark but I think I've fixed it! I had made up an extra event some time ago and I wondered whether that was interfering with the order of the rules. I went through and deleted over 200 instances where I had used that event, and then did a global fix and this time it said there were 80 people whose events were resorted. So it looks like I am all sorted now ; Thanks so much again.
