Places - consolidating place names etc.

In my Places - in Sidebar I have very many built up over the years. One in particular is the 1939 Register (like a mini census) taken at the outset of WW2 in the UK. Over time I have entered many like;
"1939 Register - (locality etc)". I know I can alter by dragging one entry over the top and rename. Does anyone know if I can select all and make it just Per 1939 Register? At the moment I can't select all and have to do it one-by-one
