    Pictures in reports

I am looking for some help regarding how to have all pictures for individuals to be included in reports generated by Reunion. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You may want to check out the Book reports (by choosing Reports > Book) and/or one of the many web-based (i.e., open in your web browser) output options for reports. (I.e., a Web Project is only web-based. However, Family History, Register, Ancestor, Descendant, Family Group Sheet, and Person Sheet reports can be web-based, saved as a text file, or opened in your word processor.)

Both web-based and Book reports have an option to include "media pages," which can include all pictures linked to people who are in the report. For information about book reports and web reports, search the manual for "book report" or "web report," respectively. One way to access the manual is to open your family file and choose Help -> Contents.

Another option, if you were wanting to see the images in a report that has been opened in your word processor, is to save all images to a folder. Afterward, you can open the folder and drag and drop images into an appropriate location in the report.

To have Reunion gather your linked images and save them to a folder, open your family file and select Thumbnails in the navbar on the left. Then, at the bottom of the Thumbnails panel, click the blue share button. Next, select the option to "Save Images to a Folder..." Then, in the window that opens, select your desktop or another convenient location. (I.e., someplace easy for you to access.) Finally, name the folder and click Save. As noted above, after the images have been saved, you may open the folder and drag and drop images into the report that is open in your word processor.

I hope you find this information helpful in moving forward

Hello. Is there a way to convert the Book Report PDF format to Microsoft Word or Pages in Reunion? If not, if there a PDF converter that you recommend? Thank you for your tip on using Thumbnails. I hope that at some point Reunion might make it easier to place the images with the information on the ancestor. It is awkward to have the images included after the info on the individual. Thanks.

Another question. If we do move the thumbnails into the body of the book...won't the index pages be off?

There is no way for Reunion to convert a PDF to a document that can be opened in your word processor. Nor am I too familiar with the PDF converters that are available. Perhaps another user can be helpful in recommending a PDF converter?

This is something I can add to our internal wish list for our programmers to consider as they are deciding which new features to include in future version upgrades. While I cannot promise when or if this suggestion will be implemented, I can promise it will be considered

My suggestion for dragging and dropping pictures into a report applied to reports opened directly in your word processor. Therefore, your word processor should adjust the page numbers accordingly.

I hope this information is helpful for you

Deb, here is a site that tells how to do it in MS Word. Word documents can be opened by Pages or LibreOffice.
