I’ve had Reunion for a few years but never quite got to grips with it. I use FTM and Ancestry. But I know Reunion has more functionality than FTM so I’m determined to try again. I have a Tree of over 5000 individuals. I don’t want to keep updating manually. However I don’t want the whole Tree to be replaced every time I upload a GEDCOM, since I do make changes in Reunion that I don’t make in FTM. That is because of the differences in how each programme uses sources, media etc and the ‘view’ fields (for want of the correct term to describe where I see information for a profile.)
I see there was a discussion about Ancestry, FTM and Reunion early last year, but that was about the process of updating in the opposite direction.
My question is, if I import a GEDCOM to Reunion that just has changes to an existing family file/Tree, will Reunion only import the changed data? Or will it replace all the existing data? Will any changes I made in Reunion but not FTM be preserved?
Hope that makes sense.
Thanks
Jane
