After twenty plus years of research, I just learned through DNA testing that my assumed father is actually my step-father, I now need to get on with researching my birth father's branch. My question then is, what would be the best way to proceed in making these changes in Reunion 12. My current tree has 1600 people with both my mother and father, I would like to avoid as much manual editing as possible, but I'm concerned about making a mess of the tree. Of course I want to keep all of the data on my now step-father and just add my birth father. I'm using Reunion 12 but would certainly want to move up to version 13 if that would offer any advantages. I would appreciate suggestions on the best way to proceed.

Go to the family card that shows your current "dad" (actually your step-dad), your Mum, and then you (and any siblings) as child(ren).
Drag the step dad's button to the Clipboard.
Now you can click in the empty space to add your biological dad as your Mum's partner.
If you have siblings, and you know that they also have your DNA dad as their Dad then it's fixed.
You can now add a second husband to your Mum - the step Dad who is currently on the clipboard.
If your step Dad is the DNA dad of some of your siblings, then you'd have to drag them from one card to the clipboard, and then back to the correct card.

Roger, thanks for the response. I'm curious to know if making the modifications as per your instructions will cause any issues down the road. After all of the years of filling in my tree, I have hundreds of connections through the man that I now know is my step Dad. Is it your sense that disconnecting him as my birth dad will or will not create problems in with the many others that are connected to him? I'm just looking for the best way to move forward without causing a train wreck with the entire tree.
