Can't get out of a "Descendent chart

I have not used my Reunion 13 for some time. The last being when I shared a Descendent Chart. Now when I open Reunion, it opens to this particular chart and gives me no options for getting out. Can someone help me? I am 92 years old and not computer literate.

I have just bought and downloaded version 14 but can't install it until I can get my old v.13 opened to something other than the aforementioned descendant chart. Can someone help me please?

Do you still have the installer for v13? If so, install that and then open your familyfile(s) with that.

Try searching your Mac for files with the ".familyfile13" file extension. This is the file extension used for all version 13 family files. To do this search, open a Finder window and click in the search box in the upper-right corner of that Finder window. Then, enter...
        .familyfile13
        ...into the search box.
Afterward, click on "This Mac" in the upper-left portion of that search window.
Once your version 13 family file has been found, control-click (right-click) on it and select Open With -> Reunion 14 from the menu that appears. Then, click "Convert" in the next window.

I hope you find this helpful in getting up and running in Reunion 14.

However, if problems continue, I recommend you reach out to us via the live chat. And, once in the live chat, we can do a screen sharing session. This would allow me (or another support person) to see your screen and assist you in that way. Also, during the screen sharing, you would be able to speak to the support person using the mic on your Mac.

If you would like to do this, see this web page...

...for information on how to prepare on your end for the screen sharing.

Screen sharing is available during our support hours, which are normally between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Eastern time, Monday through Friday. To start a "live chat," go to the web page above during that time period (or to various other pages of our web site) and click on the blue "Live Chat With Us!" button. Then, once in the live chat, a screen sharing session can be started.
