importing GEDCOM, marriage order in report

    Good morning everyone,
This is my very first request for help after using Reunion for many years. I have just imported a GED file into Reunion 13 from another application I use in parallel with Reunion. So far all my data were imported, seemingly correctly, except that when doing a Report on one person who married twice, the second wife is reported first as follows: "On 27 Dec 1899 when Louis Maurice was 35, he first married Marie Blanche BAZIN ...
a couple of paragraph later: "On 8 Aug 1891 when Louis Maurice was 26, he second married Marie Angélique Gabrielle TRÉVAL ..."
And yet when I look at my other application, Heredis, it correctly reports the wives in their date order.

What can I do to correct this?
By the way, I did import the same GED file in Reunion 11 and 12 which also reports the marriages in the incorrect date order.

Many thanks & kind regards from Perth, W-Australia

    Hi Philippe,

In reports, marriage order will follow the sequence of marriages as they appear in your records. (In this case, as the records appeared in the imported GEDCOM file.)

Reunion does not auto-sort marriages when creating a report. This is partly because, in many instances, you may not know a marriage date, even though you know the marriage order. Thus Reunion lets you sequence the marriages.

To remedy the situation you described, go to the record of Louis Maurice and click the little red triangle in the upper-right corner of his button. From the pop-up menu that appears, select Spouses & Children > Edit Spouses. You can drag the marriages into the correct order.

Another option is to select Change > Sort from the navbar on the left. You'll see a feature to sort marriages for the current couple, or for marked people, or for everybody.

Hi Frank, Many thanks. I now understand how my trusty Reunion works with regards to sorting marriages. I have followed your instructions and have just prepared a Report and so happy to say that Reunion did not fail me! All's well that ends well.

P.S. After having read your post I went to the Reunion Manual and sure enough your instructions are listed in 'Sorting Spouses for Everybody'. How remiss of me not to have checked the efficient Manual. If I may, I strongly suggest to users to open the manual and work with it whilst entering data in Reunion.

Thank you for a great software.
