I have 174000 individuals in my file. Data entry (for example, first and last names) is somewhat slow. There's something obviously happening in the background while I'm doing the data entry. Reunion 12 did not exhibit that behavior so I expect this to get resolved in an upcoming maintenance update. This is on an admittedly underpowered 12-inch MacBook (2016, m7 model) but that should be quite enough to run Reunion.Benoit Bousquet

That being said, there are two features that can cause slowness in larger family files (as they require a lot of data processing).
The first one is the Check for duplicates when adding new people feature, found in:
Reunion -> Preferences... , General
And the second is the "Calculate relationships 'on-the-fly'" feature, which can be disabled in the drop-down that opens when clicking the Change button at top-right of the Relatives sidebar.
Disabling those, if they're currently enabled, will likely speed things up a bit.

I switched back to the List - People window I usually use and everything was back to normal.

...And I thought my 100k+ people file was large.
In addition to Mark's recommendations (and especially turning off identifying-relatives-on-the-fly) I would suggest rebuilding caches every x0,000 people added, and to only keep the Main window open - not any List windows. List windows also significantly slow down Reunion data entry.--
