Surnames and Places

Is there any type of report I can run or search that can tell me the place names associated with all people of a particular surname?

Yes. The first step would be to search for and mark people who have that particular surname. I.e., if you use the search box at the top of the People sidebar to do the searching, the results can be marked by pressing Command-Y on your keyboard. (This will unmark everybody in your family file and mark only those in the People sidebar.)

Next, click on the list icon (the two rectangles) at the bottom of that People sidebar. Then, in the List window, click on Events on the left.

The next step would be to adjust the Event Settings by clicking on the gear icon at the bottom of the List - Events window and selecting these options...

Who: Marked people
Include: Events with places
AND: With or without dates

• All events

Finally, click the Update button at the bottom.

The resulting list should include places for every marked person in your family file
