Find Relationships

A friend I help out from time to time asked me today about something he'd noticed in the Find Relationships screen.

When you first open it from a family card, it has the two people from that card listed and gives their relationship - typically spouse I guess.

You can drag another person, or two people from the People list to get a new relationship calculated.

Now go back to the family card and navigate to a different couple

Now Find Relationships again...

It's still auto populated with the last two people you searched a relationship for.

In Reunion 12 it was auto populated with the 2 people from the card you had just navigated to.

Is this a glitch, or is it working as intended, even though it's different from what Reunion 12 did?

That's not happening when I follow those steps. Each time I use Find Relationship it's populated with the couple in the family card, not the last 2 people whose relationship I searched. I noticed in the dropdown list (to the left of the name) for each of the two persons on the Find Relationship page, mine is checked "Always Start With Current Couple." You might have that option unchecked.

I don't recall this behaviour from Reunion 12, although I can't verify this now I have upgraded.

I guess what is happening is that, when you start Reunion, the people field in the Find Relationship box are "blank" and so Reunion populates them with people from the displayed Family card. however, once populated, Reunion keeps these people in the Find Relationship box until they are changed. (This is what Reunion 13 does and I think this is what Reunion 12 did also).

Once you quit and restart Reunion, the people fields in the Find Relationship box will be blank again.

That is correct.

However, the default behavior in Reunion 13 is to remember the last two people for whom you performed Find Relationship.

If you prefer the old convention, then select Find Relationship and use either of the Person 1/2 menus to select "Always Start With Current Couple."
