Mapping where relatives live / lived

I had a family member ask me if it's possible for Reunion to generate a report that shows a map with pins showing where all our family lives?

This particular relative said, "You know what would be cool? If your program could show me a map of who lives where and then I could do a driving trip around the country and see all of them!"

While I can see lists of places or view addresses, I don't see the ability to lay them all (or selected people) out on a map as requested.

Taking the request a step further, generating a map with pins where a single person was born, emigrated from, arrived at, lived, died and was buried could also be visually interesting.

    Thoughts?

    Hi

Perhaps not the answer to your question but look at this link that my sone sent me. He's into GIS mapping etc. I've got him on the case doing something similar for our family.

And this is how she did it - let me know if you want me to build one too...

        Dolfs:

You can do much of that in Reunion.

In Family View there is a small marker in the top right corner of the person's header. Clicking that marker brings you to a drop down menu. Near the bottom of the dropdown is "Map all places for this person". Clicking that tab generates a map showing movements of your person.

But..first you need to have previously assigned geo coordinates for all of the places associated with that person. You can do that within the person's file (I do it in the events fields) or you can do that globally in the "Places" sidebar. There is a bit of work before you can generate a full map.

        But:

Can I save the generated Google Map to my Google account? If I can do that then I would have a map I can call up on my iPad when I travel.
