Transferring customed source templates between trees

I'm very new to V13 (I held on to V10 almost too long) but I'm not sure this is a V13 question or a general Reunion Template question.

Like many users, I have preferred to craft my own templates for sources and they've worked very well for my own tree. I've started a new project, new tree (new people, not mine) and populated it with a downloaded GEDCOM from ancestry. it came with a collection of sources, all defined as Free Form, which isn't a problem--at least I have the info that ancestry thinks I need. But when I look in Reunion-->Preferences-->Sources, the source templates associated with this new tree are the default ones supplied by Reunion. (I did check, and all my customized templates seem to have survived the conversion from V!0 to V13 for my main tree.

Is there an easy way to move a whole bunch of customized source template from my other tree to this new one, or do I have to craft them again, from scratch?

From your main Reunion 13 file, Export a Reunion family file with no people, no families and no sources.

Then import the Ancestry GEDCOM file into that.

Thanks for the suggestion,..editing my original response because I read yours more carefully.

As it turns out, V13 seems to have a different way of creating an empty clone of my file than V10 did (at least from memory). So I followed your instructions to the letter this time and it seems to have worked very well. thanks a bunch.
