One of my relatives, who provided me much information so I knew her personally, was Dora King, half cousin once removed. See graphic screen shot of find relationship tool. Screen Shot 2021-06-02 at 11.00.11 AM.png However, her record shows her to be 1C2R. I think this is because one of her parents was my full GG uncle and the other was my half G aunt. So is dora both half 1C1R and 1C2R?

Find Relatives will only show the closest relationship between the source person and the blood relatives in the file. 1C2R is closer than a half relationship. To see both the 1C2R and the half first cousin relationships between the source person and Dora, click the Find button on the left and select Find Relationship. Then add the source person and Dora to Person 1 and Person 2.

Thanks Gregg. What is a bit odd is that the Find Relationship tool shows ONLY the Half 1C1R relationship and as you point out, that is not the closest relationship.

Yes you're right, that's not what I was expecting and I am seeing the same thing here on a test file.

We will take a closer look into this to see why Reunion is reporting the relationship that way.
