Date format tags

I am trying to use the date format tags in a book. I have textbox on the book cover where I want to insert the current date - [dateFormat=%B %e, %Y] but I can not get it to work. I would also like to include this date in the footer of the pages within the book but it dose not work.

Maybe it won't work in books? Any help or suggestions?

These tags are not currently supported in the text boxes in books, only web fields (in the web project preferences) and text boxes/frame titles in charts.
