    A question on Charts

I have a small family file which contains only 120 people that I've done for a relative. Is there a way to create a left-to-right family tree chart which would have EVERYONE on it including spouses?

    Hi G.E.R.R.Y.
A few years ago there was a very useful tip put forward by a Reunion member (Rob in Boston) and I kept a screen shot of the instructions. I did try it myself at the time and it worked very well. I will try and send it as an attachement. Hopefully you will get some use out of it

To be honest, I guess I didn't explain myself well enough,Alan. It wasn't the size of the chart I was concerned about, it was trying to get THE CHART to include everyone in the family file onto the one chart.

Thats rather unfortunate. I think it should be an "ancestor" chart you would need but I see its limited to only 7 generations in the settings.
I believe there are others on here who might be more knowledgeable than I am. I think it can be done but how?

Reunion does not create an "everybody" chart. However, a Relative Chart could come very close to including everyone in your family file depending on the structure of the file and who the starting person is when creating the chart. I recommend creating a Relative chart beginning with one of the youngest members in the main family line? I.e., the youngest person in the main family line would have the most blood-relatives in the family file. And, by default, the spouses would be included on the chart. (If you don't see spouses in the chart, let us know and we'll go from there.)

After choosing Charts > Relative, select the appropriate starting person, enter an appropriate number for generations going Up (back in time). If you're not sure, enter a high number. Then, enter 1 or 2 for generations going Down (forward in time). Next, click Create Chart.

Then, once the chart is open, choose Tree -> Orientation (or press Command-R on your keyboard) and select "Left-To-Right" as the orientation of the chart. Finally, click OK.

I hope you find this information helpful

Why am I seeing some boxes with the spouse inside and some with outside connection lines?

Couples that are direct ancestors of the source of the chart will be shown in separate boxes.

Descendants of the source will have their spouses included in the one box.
