    Source information

I have a question with regard to the source data. When I go to a specific persons page and go to the event of f.i. birth or death and I attach a source document and then open it, I get a new window where I can give in a.om fields / free text, mulitimedia and down below is then the example text. Now if I fill in in the top part in the Field f.i. in which archive I have found the source document then this text is automatically added to the text at te very beginning which will show in the source overview. Is there a way that this particular text is visible but then not at the beginning but at the end?
To have a source list which states something like 1 - birth - archives Den Haag, date 2 - death - archives Den Haag, date etc. is not really handy for adding a source quickly. (I prefer to have visible 1 - birth - LASTNAME, firstname and then Archives Den Haag etc.

...it is possible to "drag and drop" the fields in the top section into the order you prefer.

I hope you find this information helpful

What you are looking to do is order the fields of the preferred Template that fits your needs.

I assume that the records types you quote are Vital Records - ie. Geboorte akten en Overlijdens akten. In Reunion > Preferences > Sources > Vital Record, you can then set the first field to be the Title field, followed by additional information fields (archive, page, location, date etc). When you then add new sources, you can populate the Title appropriately: "Geboorte - Huppeldepup, Jan - 1894".

If you change the template, it will NOT change the order of existing sources with the same Template. There is no way in Reunion to make such a global change.

Expanding on Eric's comment, "If you change the template, it will NOT change the order of existing sources with the same Template..."

If you edit the template and want to see the updated version's impact on existing sources then use the Template picker at the bottom of the Edit Source window. Pick a.n.other template then change back to e.g. Vital Record for a refresh. The downside is that you will have to do this for each and every occurence of sources based on that template, it is not a universal refresh.

Thanks all for the help. Now I understand it all better. I had looked at these sources (velden) templates before but did not know what they exactly did ... and only realising now that TITLE could be also someone's name., As I am digitalizing now all my papers, I am going through my sources one by one (yep... a lot of work) and only had done 4 of the 110. (lucky me). Thanks again
