Remove preferred image for whole file?

    Hi,
I use Family TreeMaker to sync my Ancestry Family Tree. I exported a GEDCOM from FTM and imported into Reunion. I've been doing this for years. I did this last month and this time every person has a preferred image set. But most of these "images" are documents - at least 85% of people in this 18,000+ file lived before photography was commonplace. Is there a way to globally turn off preferred images? Or to globally say that all Multimedia should be treated as a document? Or assign everyone in the file a blank image?

I'm looking for a way to stop looking at newspaper articles and census pages as the preferred image.

Thanks for your help and Happy New Year!

The easiest way I can think of to fix this would be to edit the GEDCOM file to remove this designation of Preferred image out of it and then do a new import into another empty file.

Can you post part of a GEDCOM file that has this information showing, and someone will be able to tell you how to easily make this edit with something like BBEdit.

Put images of newspaper articles and census pages in the multimedia section of a source instead of for an individual. There there is no chance it will be a preferred image for an individual if you do this.
