    How to handle unknown relationships

I recently discovered two siblings who are related to someone in my tree (probably first cousins to her, but possibly half-siblings to her), but no one knows exactly how they are related to her.

Is there a way to attach such people to my tree in Reunion? If so, what are the implications for any reports, charts or GEDCOM files that I may produce? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Click on the question mark in the lower left corner in Family View to open the Help manual. Do a find on the term "islands" and you'll have your answer. In general, islands are Reunion's way of keeping track of possible relatives until you discover the connection.

I appreciate the pointer. I should have been clearer about what I meant to be "attached" to my tree.

In my example, I would like for the siblings to be seen on charts to be connected to the woman who I believe is their cousin or half-sibling. There would preferably be some visual indication that the relationship is unknown, such as a dotted line. Any thoughts on how to accomplish that?

If I needed to do this "attached" on a regular basis, like you, I'd like to find out a good way. Several times over the years, I've saved a chart as a PDF then opened it in a PDF editor, such as PDFPen Pro, and added a couple boxes with text manually.
