    Book Report Sample

I am trying to create a Research Book to share with others who are helping with a research project.

I want to use the Relative Format with descendants.

I would like the front cover to include the name of the relative selected. I would also like the footer to contain my name and the current date the report is printed.

I can do this but it has to be typed in each time I run a report. I want to print a report and all I want to do is select the relative and print the book and not have to enter all of this information each time.

The rest of the books I have working the way I want.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks

I would like the front cover to include the name of the relative selected.
Enter the text “[relativeSource]” (and any other text you want, e.g. "Relatives of [relativeSource]”) into the Book Title field shown after going to Reports / Book (before creating the book). That will be replaced with the name of the source of the report, and will be remembered when you create future books.

Note that “[relativeSource]” is specific to the Relative format. For the appropriate option for other formats, search "title settings" in the manual and read the Title Settings, Book entry.

I would also like the footer to contain my name and the current date the report is printed.
As for your name, make sure you've entered your name into the Author field shown after going to Reports / Book, before creating the book - not via Book Settings after creating the report.

Then, after creating the book, go into the Book Settings (gear-like icon at the bottom), then to Content, Header, Footer in the drop-down that opens, and, for the Author drop-down, select where you'd like our name to appear in the footer.

These settings will also be remembered when creating future books.

As for the date, I'm afraid there currently isn't an easy way to include that automatically (at least, as far as I'm aware). You would need to enter the current date into the Custom field under Titles in the Book Settings (after the book has been created), and set the Custom option under Content, Header, Footer to where you'd like the date to appear.
