Imported sources from FTM - globally change the field order?

On importing the ged file from Family Tree for Mac 2019 - the source list in the side bar shows" "Freeform | Ancestry.com" for each and every one of them - so hard to chose between them!

On further inquiry it becomes apparent that the fields have been imported into a freeform template (which has. no fields) with the author listed before the title - and Ancestry.com declares itself the author of all things.

Whilst I can open each source and edit it - in many cases simply moving the title field up the sort order this is very time consuming. I probably will get around to changing all of them eventually as I am working on validating and enriching the data - stepping up a gear, hence the migration away from Ancestry/FTM combo - but it is quite handy to have a head start.

Since the freeform template does not have any fields in it applying the changed order of fields to the template has no effect.

    What to do?

I could, perhaps apply a template that did hold fields and then globally change the sort order as an interim measure whilst I organically transfer the sources over to the scheme I would like, but then I'd still need a way to globally change something - and there's no 'select everything in the list' button or 'command A' option or shift select...

    Any ideas much appreciated. :-)

Myles I did the same conversion from FTM to Reunion over a year ago and had the same problem with sources. I finally decided to convert them few at a time to a custom template. Just make sure all of you data comes over. Some of it may seem to be in unusually places. But it's worth the effort to make the change.
