    Strikethrough text

Does anyone know if there is a way to do strikethough text in the notes field? I am trying to transcribe a letter in which some words were crossed out.

    Thanks,
    Desiree

I don't think so. You can't create strike-through in Reunion.

If you create it in Word and paste it into Reunion, it disappears when you click 'Done.'

It's more work, but what I would do is to scan the letter, write my transcription in Pages (with strikethroughs), do a screengrab of that, combine the two images and put them into Reunion by attaching to a source.

I am of the opinion that this item should go to the Wish List. After all, strikethrough is a very basic feature that is on just about every word processing item I've ever used.

Thanks all. I think I will take Bob's advice and add it to the wishlist. I'd love to have the ability to have additional formatting features in notes. I think in the meantime I am just going to add a comment in square brackets to indicate the word should have a strikethrough.

This offers one way to do it - that is GEDCOM proof even...

                I don't see why not...

This was exported as UTF-8 Exporting as Unicode should also work.

For the future, GEDCOM Specification for version 7.0.9 ONLY uses UTF-8, where as in previous versions to this, multiple allowed character encodings defaulted to ANSEL.
