    Clearly charting a cousin marriage

In part of my tree I've discovered there were a number of cousin marriages (often designated 'cousins german' in Scottish records). I've been puzzled as to how best to create a chart that displays these marriages. The standard 'Descendant Chart' shows the participants and their descendants twice, but there is no visual link between them. If I select 'Remove Duplicates', the couple appear twice, the descendants once. Again there is no visual link beween them. There seems to be no benefit in using the 'Relative Chart', although I've spent less time experimenting with this.

I'd like to be able to see the two family lines, diverged after the mutual grandfather, then rejoined at the cousin marriage and then continued on.

Can anyone suggest a not too laborious solution to this?

I'm going to guess some form of a descendant chart is what's going to suit your needs best, but I don't know if the rest of my suggestion will be "not too laborious."

Color coding the individuals/lines might highlight things well for you. Here's a video which explains how to do this:

This video is a short introduction to some of the tools available in Reunion for customizing the appearance of a family tree chart, with emphasis on methods ...

This demo uses an older version of Reunion--the current way to choose the selection mode is to Right/Control-Click on a box. However, it might be more easier for you to simply click on a box you want to change and then Shift-click on all the other boxes you want to add to the selection.

The Edit>Find anything in boxes feature might be useful to select and find duplicate people in the chart.
