Multimedia Files - Paths Broken using Shared Dropbox Folder 2 computers/users

My wife and I both use Reunion (13). We share one Family File which is stored on her Dropbox account. All our reunion files are in a shared dropbox folder in her Dropbox account but which I can access on my computer (shared dropbox folder). The problem we have is with image files. If she opens on her machine, she has to repair multimedia paths to the images folder, and then when I open on mine I have to do this same (we never have reunion open at the same time).

I think the problem occurs because the path to the file folder is different depending on which computer is being used.

I thought that Reunion was clever enough to figure this out as it allows for more than one path to be searched for multimedia files when it opens. But it doesn't work as we both have to keep repairing multimedia as ALL out images files show up in RED on Reports Multimedia. Any help would be gratefully received!

You're correct. What you are experiencing is expected.

Reunion will not lose track of media items as they are moved and renamed on any system volume (hard drive) - however, if the media files move to a different volume the link will break - even on the same system.

Although the same family file and media files are stored in Dropbox - when you move from one Mac to the other, the system volume that Reunion is referencing has changed and the links are broken.

The good news is that you can work in a family file that has broken media links because Reunion uses the thumbnails most of the time anyhow. The only time that you will have an issue would be if you need to access the original media file - then you need to repair the links.
