I am a speed typist and the Autocomplete is causing me many problems. It's not moving as fast as I can type. Is there a way to turn it off?

Assuming you are on Ventura, go to System Settings > Keyboard and click on the Edit button next to Text Input - Input Sources. The second item is "Correct spelling automatically" Click on the slider to turn it off. If you are pre-Ventura, the setting is still in Keyboard and you should find it easily.Bob White, Mac Nut Since 1985, Reunion Nut Since 1991

If you look up Spell Checking in the Reunion manual (by clicking on the question mark), you will see that Reunion uses the macOS spell checking features.Bob White, Mac Nut Since 1985, Reunion Nut Since 1991

Regarding your desire to see an option to turn it off, I will add your request to our wish list for our developers to consider in future version upgrades of Reunion. As with all feature requests, I cannot make any promises as to when or if it will be implemented. However, I can promise your request will be considered as our developers decide which new features to include in future version upgrades.
I hope you find this helpful

Deb: Thank you for the information.....
You may want to consider revising the wording on the Spell Checking item in the manual. The current wording makes it sound like Reunion just using the macOS spell check. (Note: I'm a fast typist and skilled proofer and pretty much have always turned off dynamic spell checking on both individual apps and various OS because the typical bubble suggestions get in the way of my own self correcting!)Bob White, Mac Nut Since 1985, Reunion Nut Since 1991

Okay, it seems that Screen Capture is worth mentioning ... https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201361Researching Western NC and Northeast GA and any family connected to Caney Fork in Jackson County, NC

SUEM, I think you are confusing Autocomplete with Duplicate Checking.
Autocomplete is when you type WIL in the name field, and WILLIAM pops up in the field.
Duplicate Checking is when Reunion tells you there is already another WILLIAM SMITH in your family file.
Duplicate Checking can be controlled in Reunion --> Settings --> General
