    Corrupted file?

Recently I was updating some information in my family file on my Mac Pro and did the usual of closing the family file before closing Reunion 13. The next time I accessed the file I discovered that there was a sudden increase of approximately 2000 names in my relatives list.

The numbers were 145530 for the people list and 81383 for the relatives list.

This caused me to check the file on my MacBook Pro and the Reunion Touch files on my iPad Pro and iPhone Pro Max 14. All three of these other program files returned the same numbers:

145530 for the people list and 79365 for the relatives list.

These latter numbers I have good reason to conclude are actually the correct numbers given that the number in the relatives list was 79252 before I encountered the sudden increase in numbers on my Mac Pro application when reviewing the recent update.

I am at a loss on the best way to correct the issue on the Mac Pro. I have uninstalled Reunion on the Mac Pro, downloaded the latest version from the web site and reinstalled it. Opening the family file from Dropbox after this still shows the erroneous numbers in the relatives list.

Suggestions will be very much appreciated.

I am not sure if this is the cause of your problems, but it looks like you are using Dropbox with 4 devises. If you are using a free account, Dropbox has a 3 devise limit. One of your devises may be being excluded from the synchronization list. If you have a paid account, disregard what I have written.

Thanks for the input. This issue was occurring before I added the iPad to make 4 devices accessing Reunion and Dropbox. I'm not sure that that is an issue but I'll check it out. I removed one of the iPads and deleted Reunion Touch from that. Then I rechecked and the issue is still occurring on the Mac Pro.

I did want to post an update.

I used CleanMyMac's uninstaller to "uninstall" Reunion 13. Then I downloaded the latest version from the Reunion site. When I went through the install process, Reunion opened up to my current family file with the same information.

I did not get the usual sign in screen for information and the block to enter license key. Looks like the "uninstall" from CleanMyMac did not completely uninstall the program.

Advice on a method for a more "complete" uninstall?

Since the addition in people is in the Relatives list in the family file, and there is a cached file for Relatives, try rebuilding cache files. This is done by opening your family file and choosing File -> Rebuild Cache files. Then, click Rebuild.

If this does not resolve the problem, perhaps someone was inadvertently linked to someone in your family. This could cause a sudden increase in the number of relatives.

If you would like one of our engineers to take a look at your family file to see if we can find the issue, send your family file to us. Information about how to do so can be found here...

Note: we never share or publish anything you send to us. Your family file will only be used for testing purposes, to help us identify or duplicate a problem.

Please include a reminder of what you are seeing along with your family file.

        Thanks
