This is to ensure you are running the latest version of Reunion 13 on your Mac. (The current released version of Reunion 13 compatible with macOS Sonoma.)
If problems continue in not being able to open your version 13 family file, let us know specifically what you are seeing when trying to open your family file and we'll go from there.

I am also have serious slow down with reunion. I have tried all of the suggestions in this forum but nothing has fixed it.
My Mac is a 2017 iMac 27inch with a Samsung TV as a second window. Processor 3.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 Graphics Radeon Pro 580 8 GB Memory 8 GB 2400 MHz DDR4 Startup disk Macintosh HD macOS Ventura 13.6
Reunion: 13.0 (build: 230824)
Some times it is very quick and no problems. This morning when I tried to filter the name list I got the slow down with the spinning ball. I use a lot of Keyboard Maestro macro's to fill in my source fields. Some of the time when it is pasting it just stops and waits for something then starts filling in the fields again where it left off.
One of my questions is this: When you fill in blank fields Reunion will search for something after each character is entered to check spelling? I found the option to check spelling as you type maybe this is it? I'll give it a try as this is one option I have not tried.
Any Suggestions? I a considering getting an external SSD and boot from this. Has anyone tried this?
Thanks
