    Exporting a partial gedcom

New to the group....have been using Reunion10 for the past several years. I click on "export a gedcom", and the only choice I see is making a gedcom of my entire database. I need to make a gedcom showing the descendants of one particular ancestor....NOT the entire database. How do I make that happen? Thank you!

This can be done by marking the descendants of that ancestor before attempting to export the GEDCOM file.

I.e., begin at that ancestor's family view where he or she is shown in the center of the family view. Then, choose Mark (in the navbar on the left) and select the option to mark the "descendants" of that person (or couple). Then, enter an appropriate number of generations moving forward in time. Next, check the boxes:
    Unmark everybody first
    Mark source couple
    Mark spouses
Mark parents of spouses (if you want)
    Then, click the Mark button.

Next, click on Family View in the navbar. Afterward, choose File -> Export -> GEDCOM and select the option to export "Marked people and their spouses."

Select the other appropriate options and export the GEDCOM file.

Additional information about marking groups of people and exporting GEDCOM files can be found in your manual by searching for "mark group" or "export gedcom," respectively. To access the manual, open your family file and choose Help -> Contents.

I hope you find this information helpful
