    Reunion and iCloud Drive

I would like to hear from anyone using Apple's iCloud Drive to share their Reunion family file between multiple Macs.

    For example...

    • In what folder do you have your family file?
    • Are you using the free 5GB account or did you upgrade?
    • Are you using Family Sharing for your family file?
    • Most importantly, are you having any problems with it?

Thanks for any thoughts or comments.

I use iCloud Drive to store my family file and media. However, I only use Reunion from a single computer. It works fine and gives me an up to date cloud "backup" of my data (I also zip the folder once in awhile and store it separately as a form of real backup). I have the 2 TB iCloud storage option as part of our family plan and do not share the folder with anyone.

Actually, I have never tried because the Leister message was "Dropbox Only". Will experiment soon.

Update: The file opens from iCloud but I'm suspicious. Like the old time question: Is it live or is it Memorex? How can I be certain it is not still opening the Dropbox copy that is stored locally on the Mac? Please advise.

I’ve been keeping my Reunion files in iCloud Drive for about 9 months. They’re in a folder inside a folder inside the Documents folder. Upgraded storage (2 TB) in a shared family plan, but the Reunion files themselves are not in a shared folder. Absolutely no problems (so far).

The only minor issue I’ve run into is that it is sometimes slow to sync. I would consider 2012-vintage Dropbox to be the gold standard. Everything just worked, and quickly. Today’s iCloud isn’t that good, but it’s no worse than 2023’s version of Dropbox.
