    Upgrading from Reunion 9

I have Reunion 9 and need to upgrade to Reunion 13 because I need to upgrade my Mac OS operating system and Version 9 won’t work when I do that. I have an iMac and all of my photos are on Multimedia Folders in my Picture file Internal drive on the computer. I’ve been putting this off for some time because I’m terrified of losing my pictures or my Family Files or my data in general. I’ve put years into this and I’m really scared something could really get messed up or things lost and I’d be in a bad way.
I’ve made regular backups of my Reunion 9 files.
What is the best route to do to assure that this doesn't get messed up or things lost?
Should I have my pictures that are in my Multimedia files on my IMac internal drive or an external hard drive.
If I keep my backup of my Reunion 9 files, and somehow something gets messed up, how do I access Reunion 9 again?

Check your Reunion Preferences --> Folders to verify the location of your data files. I don't know how it looks in v9 but it's probably similar to what I see in v13:

Click all the categories and make a list of all your data directories so you can copy them to your new configuration. My folders are on Dropbox, but yours may be on your local harddrive. It doesn't matter where they are, just make sure you document everything.

After you install Reunion 13, you can edit preferences and point Reunion to the correct directories.
