    Using colour to track descent lines

    I'm trying to trace descent lines of a family visually using a large chart. I want to start with a single family and trace the descent (in so far as I know it), marking the first child of this family and each successive line. I want to have each line of descent (that is the line of each child in the original family) in a different colour box.

    As far as I can see the Reunion default is to change the colour of boxes to indicate a new generation, which is usually good for me but not in this particular case. Is there a way to override this so that the descent lines can be more easily followed.

    I think I can do this manually but wondered whether there was an automatic way of generating the desired effect.

    My thanks for any comments/suggestions.

    There is no automatic way to do the entire process. However, the easiest way to do it would be this...
    1. Create the chart the way you want.
    2. Control-click (or right-click) on the first box in the first line of descent. (I.e., the first child in the original family.)
    3. Select this...
    Select Boxes -> Descendants
    ...from the menu that appears...

    (This select all boxes for that person and their descendants.)
    4. Afterward, select the color you want from the Box color menu (along the left of the chart window)...

    5. Repeat steps 2 through 4 for each child in the original family.

    I hope you find this information helpful
