Adding both maiden names and married names

Yesterday I read all about the two versions of Married Names (Fact and Special), but what I want is to be able to show both names at the same time, specifically the married names within parentheses. Specifically, Laura Jo Grant (Clements, Velez). Or I could use squared brackets. I have noticed that marriage information is put in the AKA/Alias field, but I do not see where it can be used.

Thanks for the help, Laura Grant Velez

Yes. Parenthesis, brackets, or quotation marks (along with other characters to separate the names) can be used when entering married names within the same field as a maiden name.

The AKA/Alias field can be displayed on the family view and be included in reports and charts.

Information about adding fields to the family view and including fields in reports/charts can be found in your manual by searching for "customize family view" and "define layout," respectively. To access your manual, open your family file and choose Help -> Contents.

I hope you find this helpful in deciding how you would like to move forward

Thank you very much, Deb. That will certainly save me the time and energy of editing 13,301 names!

BTW, I jave used your wonderful manual extensively, even printing some of the excerpts.

You need to activate it. Tap on the area that shows the birth and death dates to get into Edit mode. Scroll down to Facts then AKA. Tap the Plus icon to have that field display. Tap on Done.

Well, all mine have in the edit area is minus signs, which means it should have been added. However, I cannot find it on the main screen. I'll let you know if I do.

Found it! Its in the in the info area below the Name Button! Thank you for helping.

In Reunion 13.2, I find that when a Bowtie Chart is created with an Ancestor husband & wife and three (3) Ancestor Generations is selected, and only Children of source couple is included, that when printing the chart, the second child does not include its spouse. (Each child of the source couple should have a married spouse to verify the problem.) Please advise if this problem is duplicated and if a solution is known. Thanks for participating.
