Maybe some fresh eyes can find the mistake...

Hello! I have 2 entries for one location (Washington Co., Tennessee) and I cannot figure out what is different. I have tried retyping both but there is still 2 showing up. Any other ideas on how to merge the 2? Thank you so much!

Can't you just drag and drop one on the other?

I don't see it either, but open the PLACES sidebar. Then drag one of them onto the second and drop it. Reunion will prompt you to 'merge' the two places.

My first action would be to double click each in succession and see if one of them has an unseen space after Tennessee. If yes, that makes them different. Solution is to delete the space then do a merge of locations.

I must be doing something wrong because when I drag one onto the other, nothing happens-no window pops up to ask if I want to merge... (I went to the Places sidebar and the list came up, typed in Washington Co., Tennessee and got the 2 locations and tried dragging one on top of the other and the window popped up and asked if I wanted to change it, I re-typed it and I still have 2 of them.) Check to see if one of them has an extra space at the end of the place name.

Hi Gregg-I checked for that and no, no extra space.

If Drag and Drop didn't work, try copying one and pasting onto the other.

From the places sidebar, rename one of the places to something like "Washington CO., Tennessee abc"...

Then, change the name back to "Washington CO., Tennessee" again. This should merge the entries.

Blaise-I tried that and that didn't work. BUT Gregg, your suggestion to name one of them something odd and then go back to the correct name WORKED! Thank you all for your suggestions!!! Whew. That was harder than I thought it should be but all is good.

Drag and drop also did not work for me, trying to merge two people. I found that <Command>-Drag worked.

I suspect this is a bug which affects any drag and drop operation. https://www.reuniontalk.com/member/2-gregg, what do you think?

Were you doing the people drag and drop just in the sidebar? Per the manual, first decide which of the two records to keep then make sure the keeper's family card is displayed. Final step is to drag the non-keeper onto the keeper's part of the displayed family card. I've done this several times over time and it worked OK each time.
