    Relationships on the fly

I've recently treated myself to an M3 iMac (lush!) and I feel with its extra speed I can afford to let it calculate relationships on the fly — but I can't find where that option resides. Can you help me? Even searching the manual didn't help — but maybe I didn't do that very well! Blame senilty, not me, please!

This information is found by searching the manual for "relationships on the fly." It's under the search result "The Source Person for Relationships."

Thank you, Deb; I knew it was somewhere handy but just couldn't remember where! I suppose it says in the manual, does it? I did search there but maybe not very efficiently!

I'm not using it though; it still slows everything to a crawl, I think my family is just too complicated and intertwingled for it to be practical.

Yes. It is mentioned in the manual. Search the manual for "relatives." It is mentioned on the "Relatives & Relationships" page, under the "Source Person for Relationships" section.

Yes. In some instances, it is best for users to not enable this feature.
