Reunion slow to open Mac OS 14.2.1

Just got a new MacBook Air running Mac OS 14.1. I transferred everything over from my iMac and on my new laptop Reunion 13 ran well. I just updated the laptop OS to 14.2.1 and when I click to open Reunion it takes 15 minutes to open and after Reunion is running it will be fine for about 5 minutes then it freezes.
    Any suggestions?

And by the way the problem exists when using either Dropbox or iCloud.

Have you tried doing the Reset Sharing procedure? Just look up that term in the Help manual for a procedure. Also, I am of the belief that you should only share on one or the other between iCloud or Dropbox.

Thanks Bob, I made sure only one sharing option was available before each test. I did more tests since yesterday and discovered that the Mac OS 14.2.1 is NOT to blame. I know this because my wife has an identical computer, same model, and after updating her computer to Mac OS 14.2.1 Reunion opens and runs without a problem. My guess is that on my computer there is some app running in the background that is conflicting with Reunion. Now I just have to find that app.
        Wish me luck.

Just a wild stab in the dark.... Do you happen to be using a Logitech keyboard or mouse that connects via the tiny RF transmitter that plugs into a USB--B port?

Well I'm at my wits end, here is what I have tried beyond what I tried in the previous post. I reinstalled Reunion 13, I reinstalled my laptop's system software, I booted in safe mode, I turned off my wi-fi, and these options were tried in different combinations. So my next option will be to talk with an Apple representative live.

About the keyboard and mouse, no nothing was plugged in the computer.

Only asked because I've seen a couple of wonky cases with 14.2 which after lots of old fashioned elimination procedure, I narrowed down to those little RF transmitter/receivers.

I had the same thing happen. And I have a large 38,000+ tree. I had to let Dropbox seed the file back to my new iMac, and it took some time. While I have gotten my file open, it plays havoc on the latest Sonoma on that new iMac, causing keyboard shortcuts to misfire or not work in the system, Chrome, and other apps. The only way to stop it is to quit Reunion and reopen. It persists though and I continually have to re-quit.

I made the original post and here is where I am at today.

I have been using Reunion on my machine for a month now but with a couple caveats. First I boot Reunion at least 1/2 hour before I want to use it. Second using any Menu options is a hit and miss issue. If I use one Menu option and try right away to use a second I get the spinning ball. After the spinning ball shows up I usually need to force quit Reunion, but not always. When I need to force quit I send the report to Apple in hopes of a fix. The really weird part is that my wife has a nearly identical computer (sameOS) as me except her hard drive is smaller, I opted for the 1 TB drive. I am hoping that a software update for the Mac OS or Reunion will fix the problem.

Please let us know what specific menu items you are clicking on to get the spinning wheel.

Also, if you’re getting a hang report after you do a force quit, please copy and paste the report into an email to help@leisterpro.com.
