Added my wife's genealogy file by GEDCOM to Reunion. Wanted to merge to my own but can't. Now I cannot find my own family file. Any suggestions how to retrieve my and rename hers so this doesn't happen again? TIA

Did you try to find your file using the finder's Spotlight search?
Click on the little magnifying glass icon in the top right hand corner of the screen (or Press Command-spacebar). Enter the name of the family file (or partial name) and start the search. It is probably somewhere you are not looking. If it finds the file, click on it in the list then look in the lower left hand corner along the bottom of the search window to see the path of the file.

If you recently had your own family file open, it should appear in the "Open Recent" sub-menu of Reunion's File menu. Once you've opened it, you can find its location on your computer by selecting "Get Info..." from Reunion's File Menu and looking at the "File Location" item in the resulting window.Brad Mohr

Thanks Blaise and bmohr. I have really screwed things up here. since I was trying to add her GEDCOM to my tree, I never thought to change the file name so it remains my only Reunion file with its original name. (Spotlight only finds that original name. Curiously, all my people's names are in the people search area so my original file must be n there somewhere. I haven't completed deleted or overwritten it. My original file is still on my phone and iPad as if nothing had happened, probably because I did not add anything to it. Is there a way to take out her GEDCOM von my Mac and just have mine again without messing anything else up?

Do you use Time Machine? If yes, you could retrieve an older version of the file from just before you did the GEDCOM import. P.S. If your wife is also using Reunion, why a GEDCOM when you can import a Reunion file? I have never been a fan of GEDCOM; if I get one, I use it to create a new Reunion file first and foremost. Please tell us that you've backed up somewhere. External HD, Time Machine, DropBox, iCloud, etc. If so, your familyfile should be there.
If not backed up, NOW is the time to make a backup plan and use it religiously!rMBP, 15", 2.8GHz i7, 16G RAM, Reunion 12.0, iPhone 12 Pro Max, ReunionTouch
