Hi, I have a strange problem that I can't solve and I would appreciate some help.
I was working on two families and notices that I had a common person on both, Pat. He was the son of Patrick on both lines and Grandson of Eugene on one.
So I merged the smallest line one into the bigger line with the grandfather. After the merge this gave me two father Patrick's, one of which I want to keep Patrick who was married to Anne and was the son of Eugene and the other Patrick who had virtually no information, I deleted.
As I was tidying things up I noticed the in Family View for Eugene (the grandfather) everything was correct.
When I clicked into Children and onto Patrick, his son, in Family View everything is correct, Eugene is up on the top LHS as a parent, Patrick is on the LHS and his wife Annie on the RHS next to him and Pat is located amongst the children below.
When I click into Children and onto Pat, and Family View opens, there is no Patrick nor Annie on the top LHS, (though his wife Margaret's parents are in the top RHS), and Pat's child is listed below.
I can't get back up to Patrick by clicking on the empty box, but I can click on his name in the People Index.
When I do go back to Patrick and Annie in Family View using the Index, and click on their other two children, they both open up on family view correctly, with their respective parents in the correct place and I am able to click up to them.
Can anyone give me an idea as to why Pat shows up on the way down but his parents go missing on the way up, and give me some idea as to how to fix it?
