Custom defaults and color presets for charts

Hi! I'm working on a project for my niece and making a few charts for different branches of our family. There are a few things I'm trying to puzzle out:

There are some changes I make to every chart: getting rid of the shadows, changing the blue connecting lines to black, etc. Is there any way to fix these changes as the defaults so that I don't have to go through them manually with each one?
I'd like to establish my own color palette -- can it be recorded as a preset?

I currently have Reunion 13, but plan to upgrade to 14 tonight, so I haven't yet explored for myself if these are now options. In 13 and below, I haven't figured out how to do this.

The shadows and colors used in boxes on the current chart are something that can be set as a default. (I.e., the colors used in chart boxes should automatically be remembered from one chart to the next as long as the same type of chart is being created each time. This is what we call an automatic default.) Information about defaults on a chart and how to lock them can be found in the manual by searching for "lock default." To access the manual, open your family file and choose Help -> Contents or click on the "?" in the lower-left corner of just about any Reunion window.

I hope you find this information helpful in saving some of the adjustments as defaults

      Thanks so much, Deb!
I just tried this, and it does work as long as I make those changes in the correct dialog box -- I hadn't understood this before. Very helpful!
In terms of the color presets, what I would like to do is to create specific color sets and preferences for different purposes, and save them with new names. Is this possible?
      Thanks again!

This is not possible. However, I will add a request to our wish list for our developers to consider implementing in a future version upgrade of Reunion. As with all feature requests, I cannot make any promises as to when or if it will be implemented. But, I can promise it will be considered as we work to improve Reunion

I'm sorry I don't have better news for you.

Thanks for the replies, and for considering this option for future upgrades!

As an example, I just made a series of descendant trees for my niece. I chose a color scheme in which, regardless of where I started (5 or 6 generations back), all of her generation, her parents, her grandparents, etc., were the same color from one tree to another. I think this will make it easier for a non-genealogist to understand the information. It would be great, if I want to go back in a few years and redo these trees with updated info, if there was a way to remember that scheme. (Though I can of course do this manually, and it's not a huge deal). Just an idea - thanks for the great software. I've been a Reunion user for quite a while now!
