Accidentally using old Reunion13 files AND new Reunion14 files

Have discovered to my horror that although I upgraded to Reunion14 back in November, somehow I've been working in 2 Reunion13 files still on my computer, AND 2 Reunion14 files. Must have been in a brain fog last several months. Suggestions for solid, safe way to fix this problem, please? Heartsick! - Judy Morris

Open each file and use the Find ------> Advanced to search for people who were modified after say 1 November 2024

This will give you a list of people in each file that you've changed during this period.

From there you can perhaps figure out how to best going about resolving this so that all the changes end up in a single file that you'll continue to work on.

And I'd suggest going forward that you put that file into your Dock, and always start Reunion by clicking that file's icon in the Dock.

Thank you! That's do-able. Interesting about the icon in the dock though. I do have the Reunion icon in my dock, and Reunion opens on the family file (in Dropbox) I must recently worked in and gives me the option to work in a different family file, which has seemed to work fine. But I have another quesiton (start new thread?) The other question is, when I open and view my Dropbox itself, I see that one of my two families shows with the Reunion icon, and the other shows with a FOLDER icon, as if there's more in it than just the reunion file. Is this OK? Seems a little weird...

Well it obviously wasn't working perfectly, or you'd have only been working on a single file.

If you put the icon for the current file you're working on in the Dock rather than the Reunion application icon, you can be sure to be opening the right file every time.

You can have more than one Reunion family file icon in the Dock...

As to the other question, start a new topic for it.

That's good, thanks for the idea about the icon in the dock -- never occurred to me the icon could in the dock could be specifically named for one specific family! You've been very helpful. Will ask other question in new post. Thanks again!

General rule of thumb for the total MacOS: Whenever an icon in the dock misbehaves, simply delete the icon and do a new one. It is just an alias that is no longer pointing to the correct destination.
