    My first Problem

Trying out version 14 and had the following problem:

I decided to try the Everybody Chart. Well I guess with 10000 individuals you need more computer than I have. So after running it for about 30 minutes. It had gotten to the part where it was creating the boxes. And I gave up so went and forced quite the application. Then when starting version 14 back up all of my Family View was messed up. All of the colors and formatting for this window was gone.

I deleted the 14 file and reloaded from my 13 and now 14 is back OK. I had only made one change in 14 so no real problem.

I have made charts with 8 or 9,000 people and it works just fine. It took about 40 minutes on my particular machine. You have just got to be patient. However, I have found that the increase in the number of people in the chart to the increase in the time it takes to make the chart is not linear. The time it takes to make a chart increases more than the increase in added people. With this in mind I will not be attempting to make a chart of all 85,000 of my relatives and their spouses any time soon.

You're right I'm not too patient. But even then force quitting the program should not mess up the formatting of the Family view?

I am now not sure what causes the problem as I just made another change to version 14 and have now lost all of the formatting of the family view. These are the only changes made to version 14. So something else is causing the problem? The change made 20 minutes ago was to delete an item from the Misc Notes from Neely.

I looks like the family view settings for the custom Family View got wiped out or? If I change the Family View to another view those settings are OK but not the one I was using when I made the changes?

I haven't run into that particular quit problem, but it doesn't sound great.

Some choices will have to be made about the utility of creating a chart with tens of thousands of people, but it's nice to have the option to make that choice. One simple filter I'd recommend is to only chart one island at a time. You won't lose any connections between people with that option, and some users could potentially significantly reduce the size of each chart.

This is one of the big reasons I am glad I am using Reunion. I got a email from Gregg telling me they had found and fixed the problem along with what made it fail and a new release of the application. Thanks Gregg and the Reunion support team.
