Can a media file from the media sidebar be copied (not moved) to a media panel? I have tried dragging, but that moves the file. In some scenarios I want the file to exist in both areas. I realize I can just do an import from the media panel, but this seems like an step if it already exists in the media sidebar. I hope this makes sense.

Yes, I understand what you're asking for here.
Right now you can not duplicate a media item by dragging it from one location to another within the same person or family record.
