Pages documents

I recently switched from using Word to Pages. I tried to drag & drop a Pages document into Media but it bounces back. The preferred word processor is set to Pages, although I don't think that should matter.
Anyone else having this problem, or have suggestions of how to resolve it? Thanks! I'll attach the doc for reference.

Files with the .pages extension are not supported. You can however use Pages to export your document to one of the supported formats, i.e. DOC, RTF, or TXT. To do so, in Pages, click File -> Export.

For more details on supported file formats, in Reunion, click Help -> Contents and search for "file format"

Thank you! Done & done. Interesting that the document I uploaded says it's a .docx. It did start out as one, but after editing (and having switched to Pages), I was forced to save it in Pages. Thanks again.
